Rénovation de salon à Bâle (traduction à suivre)
Location: Basel (Allschwil), Switzerland
Type of property: detached house
Client: Private Owner
The clients, a young couple, had bought this detached house in Allschwil a couple of years ago, but struggled to decorate the living room to their liking.
They were looking for something unique, modern yet comfortable and suitable for a family of four. They were particularly concerned about storage and wanted to add a special touch to create a haven for relaxation as well as a welcoming area for visitors.
The lovely anthracite floor, which runs throughout the entire downstairs area, naturally had to be integrated into the scheme. During the initial client brief it already became evident that the clients had a strong preference for cool colours. This is why I aimed for a feature wall in turquoise, however, to add some warmth to the scheme I also added some wooden elements and orange-brown features in matching tones to the colour scheme. The TV cabinet made of raw steel and soaked walnut as well as the shelving were custom made and so were the rusted mirror and the side board and wall cabinets. Together they offer plenty of storage and create unique features for the walls.
