What an exciting journey it has been… There were more than 200 blogs nominated, 11’000 votes cast, 55 blogs shortlisted and 12 winners selected for the Amara Interior Blog Award!

I was over the moon when I got nominated and thrilled when my blog was shortlisted in the category ‘Best international Blog’, where I was competing against 91 other bloggers!

In anticipation of the awards ceremony held in London on November 5th, all shortlisters were interviewed by the Amara team about their experience with blogging. I found it a very rewarding experience to share my thoughts and to read about the other bloggers’ journeys. In my opinion blogging is all about learning and sharing. It is something very personal, yet so public, a fascinating mix really. ‘Personally, I learn something new with every post I write, which is essentially what keeps me going…’ read more about the interviews here.

Glam invites to a glamorous event

The black and gold invites and the venue, which had been chosen for the awards ceremony, were an indication of a great night ahead.

It was indeed a glamorous evening hosted at the Rosewood London. As you enter the tranquil courtyard, right off the busy streets of High Holborn, it is as if stepping back in time. The hotel is housed in one of London’s most exquisite Edwardian buildings, featuring a delightful mix of old world architecture and modern elements. We were escorted through the rose bronze gallery into the mirror room, where everyone eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners, whilst sipping on bubbly and cocktails, nibbling on fancy finger food and networking with fellow bloggers. As a reasonably new blogger, I particularly enjoyed chatting to the others, sharing my experience as well as learning from theirs.

Even though I didn’t win my category, it has been an unforgettable experience, a great boost to my blog as well as a motivation to blog on… Who knows, I could be a winner next year!
