Award-winning Interior Designer and founder of Global Inspirations Design, Simone has lived and worked on several Caribbean islands for more than 8 years, spanning over 3 decades. She initiated both, her first career in the hospitality industry and her second career in interior design in what she calls “my favourite part of the world.” Essentially, it was her first design project, a tropical chic Villa Design in the British Virgin Islands, for which she won the ‘Most Stylish Kitchen in the Virgin Islands Design Award’ that made her turn her passion for interior design into a career.
Most importantly, Simone has a deep understanding of the Caribbean culture and lifestyle, as well as a great appreciation for its people, which help her navigate the challenges that come with furnishing a home in the Caribbean.

Furnishing a home from scratch in the Caribbean involves a lot of logistics, as nearly everything needs to be purchased overseas and shipped to the islands. Simone works with an extensive global network of manufacturers, vendors and artisans to source furniture and materials from. For her Caribbean projects she’ll usually spend some time sourcing in Florida and Puerto Rico either on her own or together with the client. At the same time, she also likes to involve local partners, trade and artisans wherever possible.

Fusing her extensive background of working in boutique and luxury hotels across the globe, Simone truly understands the needs of the discerning traveller and how to provide the ultimate guest experience. She strongly believes that Caribbean interiors should not compete with, but complement their beautiful surroundings.
Her approach to island style interior design is about timeless understated luxury and stylish comfort, also known as barefoot luxury. This is not to say, that she doesn’t add an element of surprise or wow factor to the space creating those desirable hashtag insta-moments.
Simone works on-site as well as remotely, but usually a combination of both. She handles all the logistics, including sourcing, purchasing, shipping, delivery, overseeing installation and final styling.
